Running With Walt by Shawn Tegtmeier

Don’t stop yourself before you start!

Think you’re not ready? Scared to take the next step? Think you just flat out can’t?

I’m here to tell you that you can. Follow me as I pushed my limits and learned more about myself and what I’m capable of. If this former couch potato can do it, you can too!

Running With Walt

HOW A CHAIN SMOKING COUCH POTATO
GOT OFF THE COUCH

How does a woman go from thinking a breakfast of champions is a half a pack of cigarettes and a pot of black coffee to running 2 or 3 marathons and an ultra-marathon in a year?

When Shawn was 36, she had a shocking realization that she smelled like a dirty ashtray and was always fighting with her scale. In Running with Walt, Shawn candidly shares how she battled quitting smoking (it’s the hardest thing she has ever done), and slowly started walking.

Enter Walt, another parent on her sons’ travel soccer team. Walt was passionate about running and loved to talk about it. One morning, Shawn opted to try running. She made it a half a block before collapsing, wheezing for breath. But she kept going, getting a little further every day. As her love for running grew, she went back to school to learn more about exercise.

This story is for anyone who has been afraid to try

Follow Shawn as she runs her first 5K, finishes her first classes, and keeps pushing her limits, while learning more about herself and what she is capable of.

What are you capable of? Ask yourself these questions:

  • Are you ready to learn something new about yourself?

  • Afraid you won’t be good enough?

  • Do you think you’re too old, or too out of shape?

This story is for anyone who has been afraid to try. Anyone who has doubted themselves. Anyone who thinks their dreams can’t be reality. Follow Shawn’s journey and discover a very important message: Don’t stop yourself before you start.

Shawn Is such an authentic voice in a world of white noise.  Running with Walt is a real and raw look at the learning curve of trusting yourself enough to become who you were born to be. Shawn’s ability to lay it all out there… the fear, the drive and the triumph of finding yourself… it’s incredible. It’s like an evening with your friends… tears, belly laughs and fist pumps. A must read for those looking for the battle cry for their inner winner.
